I had a man knock on my door the other night, asking if I’d like to change power companies. As a frugal home owner who knows a thing or two about energy costs, I thought I’d done my homework to minimise costs but hey, I’d be more than happy to save more so I had a good chat with him.
As it turned out, this particular retailer would have cost an extra $2.50 per month in energy costs (so I had the lowest cost… yessss!) but it made me think about all those people who are paying too much for electricity and just accept it. We (DETA) spend a lot of effort to reduce our client’s energy costs, but when we go home we forget about applying the same rigor to home life. Have you compared your actual home usage at www.whatsmynumber.co.nz lately?
