Practicing what we preach

We moved into a nice new office late last year. It was interesting approaching the fit out with two things in mind

  • we want to do all we can to reduce our operational costs
  • we dont have bottomless pockets

Two fairly common issues with almost all of our clients. In our office we managed to get in the low energy lights and all of our computers are low energy anyway. We also invested in some low energy appliances – TV and a fridge. We didn’t change the HVAC though – we might have been able to look for a more efficient option but when it came down to it, it just didn’t make economic sense for us to do that. We had the information available to make a well-informed decision, and we made it based on what was best for us long term.

Next time you need to make a decision involving energy reduction, just make sure you have all the right information to hand. It’ll make the decision easy.
